The Bayou Bridge Pipeline is helping build a better life for people in Louisiana. New energy infrastructure development like this project stands to benefit residents across the state, thanks to millions of dollars in investment and increased tax revenues for municipal services.
That’s why Dr. Loren C. Scott, Professor Emeritus – Louisiana State University (LSU), says the pipeline is more important than ever to ensure the people of Louisiana reap the economic benefits this infrastructure provides.
Widely regarded as one of the preeminent authorities on the state’s economy, Dr. Scott spent 33 years in the Economic Department at LSU, serving as chairman of the department for 13 years. In his time as chairman he helped bring the department’s ranking from 101 to 35 among the 3,000 economics departments in the U.S.
He is also the co-developer of the Louisiana econometric model, which provides an annual forecast of the Louisiana economy. Dr. Scott has written over 75 reports and articles on the state of the economy, along with giving up to 70 speeches a year on the topic.
Dr. Scott recently joined Louisianians for Energy for a discussion about Bayou Bridge and the energy industry’s economic impacts for Louisiana – watch the full video here:
